Studio Apartments for Rent

I work for a construction company and recently my hours have been cut back due to the bad economy. Now that I am not making as much money as I used to, I have had to make some drastic cutbacks in my life as well. For one, I had to move out of my luxury apartment to someplace cheaper. I used to live in a 1 bedroom apartment but I think I can only afford studio apartments now. Studio apartments are basically one room apartments with no separation between any of the rooms except the bathroom. This means that your kitchen and bedroom are all in the same room as the living room. These types of apartments are usually lack privacy but are great for single people who want to save money on rent.

I began my search for studio apartments for rent by using a website called rent.com. I like this site because you can get a $100 rebate if you find an apartment through them. It was pretty easy to search using the website. I merely entered in the details that I wanted a studio apartment and then I got several results for the area that I was searching. I went to each of these apartments to have a look. These apartments were all pretty small. They were usually about 600 sq ft or less. Moving from a 1 bedroom apartment to a studio is certainly a big change. I would imagine that I could not invite any friends over because the place was just too small. I figured this was just a short phase until my hours at work picks up again and I can move back to a bigger place.

I did not like the studios that I saw so I did some more research online. I went to another website called craigslist and continued my search there. I found a lot of units that were being rented out by private landlords. They usually charge less rent than apartment holding companies. I was finally able to find a studio that I liked. It was pretty spacious compared to the other units that I had seen. The landlord checked my credit and I signed the lease soon after.
